During the First Day of the ESSSB, there will be offered various workshops, symposia and network meetings. All of these meetings are open for all participants and it is strongly encouraged to use this as an opportunity for meeting new potential collaborators – as well as re-connecting with familiar faces.

At subsequent days, each morning will offer presentations by Plenary Speakers. Thursday and Friday, there is a double track of Plenary Speakers; one track has a focus on ‘Novel Research Findings’ and the other on ‘Clinical Innovations and Treatment Strategies.’ Afternoon sessions consist of 9 parallel sessions with a mix of symposia and oral presentations.

The last day of the ESSSB, Saturday, will be initiated by innovative Plenary Speakers and around lunchtime, one of the most important events will take place; namely, the election of the site for the ESSSB in 2026. If you are keen to host the ESSSB in 2026, please do get in touch with us. We have allocated approximately 5-8 minutes for each contestant venue to present their site prior to the voting, which will take place. Poster Award Winners will be announced during the Closing Session. Importantly, the ESSSB in 2024 will take place in Rome and will be presented by the organisers.

Please note that speakers and chairs of accepted individual talks, posters, symposia and workshops are NOT exempted from paying the registration fee.
